Berlin-based designer ANNE GORKE presented her Autumn/ Winter 2016/17 collection on the last day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin.

With her newest collection "Dye and the sky", she delivered high end fashion that would belong on the international catwalk scene. The key theme of Anne Gorke’s collection was the awakening of a marvelous Indian summer in the greyest of winter hours. A suitable wake-up-call the started off the show: a Dj mixing electronic beats in full blasts and two female dancers with lace-covered faces were performing. The lights went on and the first model strode out as if on the way to a night-club. She encouraged the public to applause and come loose.

The collection enbodied all of october´s heterogenity and contrasts in modest exuberant colours such as black, dark blue and a strong red. The lush red and pink leaves on flowing dresses, skirts and tunics turned the collection in a winter tale. Trousers with soft falling width, long blouses or flares illustrated a hands-on approach to charmingly casual boy-like outfits, with a soft touch of female beauty. Favourite pieces were oversized coats which remined us of cloecks for boxers. Anna Gorke suprised her show audience with dresses over pants, dresses worn as coats and coats worn as vests. A generous fit and clear cuts, which were Anne Gorke’s signature style, gave the liberty to be women in every facet of life.

The designer only worked with sustainable materials. The textiles wewre organic and 100% eco-friendly, exclusively made in Europe. All fabrics that were used in Anne Gorke’s collection, such as leather, woven-wool, matt rayon, organic cotton, walk-fabric and delicate lace, were made from the highest quality. Exquisite details made out of faux-fur, which brought a playful side to the dresses, short jackets and vests, spiced up the looks.

A number of things remained similar trough the show: knee-high-socks, tights and flat shoes. This combination achieved the perfect wow-look.

The interpretation of an Indian summer gave her designs a particular charm and twist. The stylistically confident alternation between balance and power also characterized the women Anne Gorke depicted here.
