One of the biggest shows at this season’s Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin, MARC CAIN opened a very well visited show in the fashion tent at the Brandenburger Tor.
Classical opera music started when the room was still dark, slightly confusing the audience, but who still had high expectations of what was to come. Loud beats then dominated the classical music and introduced the beginning of the show.
The first group of this Autumn/Winter 2016 collection’s looks consisted of long blazers and wide dress trousers. “Le Blazer” was one of the collection’s highlights, as it created a prefect night outfit. Reinventing chic office looks, styled with feminine make up and accessories, this collection not only impressed supermodel Irins Shayk, but also the rest of the audience.
The sometimes simple and sleek looks were combined with big necklaces and earrings. Although these long earrings are usually combined with evening outfits or gowns, the combination with more casual day looks and turtlenecks was surprisingly exciting. Other accessories used to complete the looks were fur stoles, fur backpacks and brooches with big flowers in different colours.
A theme that was visible in many different shapes and colours was the use of a floral print. The return to flowers became an elegant accessory on blouses and dresses, as well as a print, thereby creating a recurrent theme within this collection. The colour scheme included different rose colours, camel in an exciting combination with yellow, orange-red shades and black. The styling of the models was as feminine as it was beautiful: dark red lips and tender eyeliner, resulting in a seductive but classy make up.

Even though Marc Cain was able to bring a modern and very varying look to the runway, the brand still represented their look as well as their consumer in a classy and feminine way.
