KRISTIAN AADNEVIK presented their Autumn/Winter 2016 collection titled "The Winter Garden" during London Fashion Week at One Whitehall Place.

The London based luxury womenswear label is a design partnership between Hila and Kristian Aadnevik, whose defining themes are a blend of opulence, sensuality and gloom. Kristian Aadnevik has a background of working with powerful houses such as Alexander McQueen, Versace and Roberto Cavalli. The designers have managed to create a new concept blend between ready to wear and haute couture, offering a seasonal collection with a made-to-measure service for clients who visit the studio from all over the world, and exclusive stores. To do so, they have developed particular handcrafted production techniques differentiating their brand from other fashion houses. All patterns are built on the body, working with natural effeminate shapes, contrasting sharp cuts, soft layering and drapes. The design duo fuse together alluring shades, luxury leathers and lavish embellishments, to evoke these diverse, rich settings and striking cultures.
And that's exactly what they did again for the Autumn/Winter 2016 collection, which was inspired by the raw and wild nature of a mystical winter garden's tale. They illustrated it like: "The savage birds roam the cold landscape of sleeping bloom while snow bunting chant through the dawn. Delicate feathers paint the exposed landscape." The designers pointed out further: "This collection forms part of a journey, where the soft colors and life od summer falls and a soulful darkness uncovers a more raw wild beauty We observed the animals and birds in their natural habitat through the cold season of frost, snow, rain and howling wind and discovered a romantic nostalgic fascination. Owls and hawks became prints and embellishments, while stars cover raven lace."
Throughout the collection, there were natural elements with leather craftsmanship and couture feather adornments set against exotic furs, French lace, embroidered birds and floaty chiffon. Midnight blue and green, soft nudes and metallic shimmered through gloomy shades of black and grey.
