If there is someone at Mercedes-Benz-Fashion Week Berlin, who doesn't stick to the idea, that fashion is only clothing but also political statements, travel reports or sculpturing, it must be I´VR ISABEL VOLLRATH. The graduate of Berlin Weißensee School of Art is recognized for the merge of fashion and art.
A live saxophonist and two ballet dancers introduced her spring/summer 2017 show. Ballet was the remarkable point of her collection. 'Sacre du Printemps' is about Russia prior to the carination - a redefining of political, social and cultural aspects. In times when Igor Strwainsky wanted to depict the bright resurrection of a broken world, which was brought back to life, when operators stroke back and artists federated, Isabel Vollrath found her inspiration.

Although the collection was inspired by Russian ballet, it sometimes referred to Japanese construction of the early ‘90s. With it, tulle and soft, fluid materials with rather virginal patterns such as tiny flowers or small stripes turned into dark and heavy cloth. A floor-length black gown with a giant bow and a coat with gloomy prints that showed the hands were outstanding. To that dimly mood, she transformed a bunch of used ballet shoes into wraps and accessories.
With her structural and abstract pieces like layered trousers, corsages or strongly emphasized waistlines, Isabel Vollrath created fashion away from the often too seen Berlin commerce.
