Thomas Pink showcased his Spring/Summer 2017 business range at the ICA during London Collections Men. In the 18th century, Mr. Pink was a London tailor who designed the iconic hunting coat. The coat was made of scarlet cloth but was always referred to as PINK in honor of its originator. Scrupulous attention to detail, exclusive fabric and exquisite craftsmanship were the hallmarks of a PINK coat. Today, Thomas Pink carries on the name and tradition of Mr. Pink, crafting shirts and tailoring which enshrine the British heritage of the iconic PINK coat. And ever since the brand was founded in London in 1984 by the Mullen brothers, Thomas Pink shirts are made using traditional, time-honored methods with exclusive fabrics, where detail is key. The collars alone are hand turned and composed of up to 14 individual pieces. The different cuts allow men with all kind of physiques to feel elegant.
Thomas Pink combines tradition and modernity that for this presentation, inspired by an Annie Leibovitz shoot for Vogue in 2012, which saw models sat on suspended wooden chairs wrapped in traditional Bengal Stripe fabric, we see men wearing the finest business shirting and accessories. Shirts were styled with crisp cotton boxer shorts, eyewear from E.B Meyrowitz and shoes from G.J.Cleverley.
Frederik Willems, Head of Design, says; “Business shirting is our heartland and we felt it time to celebrate that at LCM. With simple plains in white, blue and pink set alongside a sprinkling of traditional Jermyn Street designs – it’s time to get back to business.”
